We are committed to a zero single-use plastic policy on site and align with Plastic Free Seaford which is an organisation that empowers the local Seaford community to tackle the single-use plastics epidemic. None of our vendors sell single use plastic bottled water on site and plastic straws are also banned. There is clean, safe mains drinking water available at the festival. Staff and attendees are encouraged to bring their own re-usable water bottles for filling at the water station or bars. For those preferring spring water, the bars sell it in resealable cans.
We share the same values around quality, sustainability, and sourcing. Orange Beach Bars committed to our zero single-use plastic policy on site without any hesitation and together, we made the decision to use a net zero reusable cup service which does not cost us the earth and reduces waste. Sarah and Jamie are also committed to sourcing quality products ethically and locally. As if all that was not enough, Orange Beach Bars, Brighton also offset their travel.
We and our suppliers, share the same values around quality, sustainability, and sourcing. We have selected local businesses and suppliers who source their ingredients and products locally, and organically and fair-trade where possible.
We use a number of planet friendly, biodegradable air filled balloons. The balloons are made in the UK from natural latex, an organic material which is fully biodegradable. We do not condone the practice of balloon releases and to ensure that our spent balloons never enter the environment to become litter or to pose serious risk to wildlife and/or the marine environment, we dispose of them in a responsible manner via our own compost heap where they will have the best conditions in which to biodegrade and we ask the same of our attendees.
Ecolibrium are an amazing organistion that tackles travel impact. We believe that big changes can come from small steps and as a festival, we endeavour to collectively offset (as far as possible), the carbon emissions created as a result of this event. We ask all ticket holders, traders, artists and suppliers to join us and consider taking action to balance the unavoidable emmissions of their journey. Click HERE to calculate and analyse the emmissions from your journey and consider ofsetting via a donation to the renewable energy programme Energy Revolution.
To support planet positive printing, we limit the amount of printed materials we use and ensure that our printed materials have a positive impact on the environment and society. We have teamed up with the local, Seaford based Tansleys Printers who are proud to use paper sourced only from environmentally accredited stocks, inks that are vegetable based, and they develop their lithographic plates thermally, without using chemicals. They also pride themselves on producing precious little waste with any ininevitable waste being recycled conscientiously and to the appropriate certificated standards.
Vision: 2025 is a growing network of over 500 outdoor events and businesses taking a climate action journey toward net zero. We have taken the Festival Vision 2025 Pledge.
